I have had asthma<\/a> since the age of 3. It began after a cold<\/a>, my mother told me. I have suffered from breathing difficulties for 57 years now. I have tried many different approaches to try to cure or improve my asthmatic condition.\u00a0 I can truly say that nothing has worked till I seriously gave the Buteyko<\/a> technique a go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within a short time, perhaps 2 weeks, my sleep was better and my am energy slowly rose. I am now able to get through the full night with no Ventolin inhaler at all.<\/strong> This was impossible all my life since asthma<\/a> was getting worst in the early am as it is for many asthmatics. It is such a good feeling to wake up and feel like the rescue is not needed. A little miracle in itself for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also quickly began to feel calmer in my life in general.\u00a0 Within one month, I felt different in my rhythms. I have more patience and calm to deal with life’s challenges on a day-to-day basis. The drugs used to affect my nervous system and often made me feel agitated.\u00a0 From 3 to 5 puffs of Ventolin a day I am now down to 1 puff a day in 2 months.\u00a0 This is very remarkable progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another thing I notice is my complexion is better. Since my blood circulates better<\/strong> I see more color in my face and my body, in general, feels stronger. My posture is improving<\/strong> which is also something I wanted so much to change. I am learning to listen to my breathing and pay attention to what it needs. To have some tools to deal with this other than rescue inhalers is fantastic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I get too tired or stressed or overeat is when asthma shows up. I am learning lots of ways to become aware of this and again have tools to deal with it that are non-drug related. Another thing to mention, which is terrific, is how from the start my energy levels have gone up.<\/strong> Many small projects around the house I was not able to do before but now can because I have the energy and focus to attack the project and get it done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But all these good results come with dedication to the Buteyko Breathing practice, trust, faith, endurance, patience, and lots of breathing exercises and relaxation. Making this a priority in my life is a big challenge but it is the only way I wish to continue to live my life; to breathe better<\/strong> was my constant need and wish and now it is a reality!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
